You will need:
300g ground pork (beef or chicken work well also)
3/4 tsp Italian seasoning (omit if your sauce is already herbaceous)
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp salt
Toppings as pictured:
marinara sauce
black olives
green pepper
shiitake mushrooms
prosciutto
fresh basil leaves
Note* You can use any toppings of your choice!
To make:
Preheat the oven to 400F.
Prepare a baking sheet. You can use a round dish or square pan. Line the baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a bowl, combine your meat & spices. Mix well. Spread meat onto parchment lined dish. Use your hands to press evenly. Shape into desired form (round/square), ensuring its about 1/4 inch thick.
Place in oven and bake for 10-15 minutes or until edges are brown and meat is cooked through.
While the base cooks, prepare your toppings. Slice veggies etc.
Remove base from oven. Spread your tomato sauce evenly and to the edges. Add the remaining toppings.
Place back in oven for 5-10 minutes. If you put cheese on, you can set the oven to broil. Just watch carefully to not burn.
Remove from oven. Slice it up and enjoy.
Notes:
-This is enough for one large portion or two smaller portions
