Real Ketchup


You will need:


  • 700ml strained tomatoes

  • 156 ml tomato paste

  • 3 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 3 medjool dates

  • 1 & 3/4 tsp onion powder

  • 1 & 3/4 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 & 3/4 tsp himalayan salt

  • pinch of clove

  • pinch of cinnamon

To make:


  1. Begin by placing all ingredients in a medium size sauce pan over medium heat. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

  2. Once bubbling, reduce heat to low and let simmer for 15 minutes.

  3. Transfer the ketchup into a blender, and combine until smooth ~1 minute

  4. Now that its smooth, pour ketchup back into the sauce pan, and simmer for an additional 15 minutes.

  5. Transfer to a large jar and leave to set to room temperature. Once ready, seal the jar and place in the fridge.
